Cho Dong-Sung is the Founding Dean of the NeoHorizon School of Management in Dubai and Chair of the SDG Management School in Geneva. He also serves as Honorary President of the Hanseatic League of Universities and is the founder of the WURI Foundation, which publishes the World University Rankings for Innovation.
In Korea, he is Chair Professor at aSSIST University, Professor Emeritus at Seoul National University, Chair of the Association of SNU Professors Emeriti. Dean of the Corps of Honorary Consuls of Korea, and Chair of the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies. He is also the Honorary Consul of Finland in Korea and Dean of the Corps of Honorary Consuls, representing 88 countries.
He earned his doctorate from Harvard Business School and previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group and Gulf Oil. He is now pursuing a second Ph.D. in AI at aSSIST University. He has held major academic leadership positions, including Dean of the SNU Business School and President of Incheon National University, and has taught at Harvard University, Duke University, and the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor.
He has served on numerous national committees on trade, innovation, and competitiveness and has taken leadership roles in cultural and social institutions. A prolific scholar, he has published more than 90 books and 150 academic articles, proposing influential frameworks such as the Nine-Factor Model of National Competitiveness, the SER-M Paradigm, the Mechanism-Based View, the CPT Model, and the WS Model.
He has been honored by the Korean government, received knighthood from Finland, and is widely recognized as a leading management thinker in Korea and internationally.
